Had a craving for a cream tea this morning so decided to venture here. Despite living close to the flower market for 5 years, I never stopped at Cake Hole. Turns out I’ve been missing a lot.

The cream tea was by far the best I have had, and I’ve had a few across the country. The scones were gigantic, warm, fluffy, yet dense and moist. I could only finish one and took the other home. The strawberry jam, which I understand is from Borough Market, was another extremely pleasurable surprise. Paired with lush cream and classic English breakfast tea, it was the perfect Sunday morning treat. I’m bringing my mom here the next time she visits from the States as we don’t get cream tea on the other side of the pond and scones with clotted cream are her favorite. Gentlemen at the counter were lovely too. Will definitely be back, maybe to try the cake this time.
