Cake Hole Café, nestling in the heart of Shoreditch is a wonderful venue to host your private function. We are open for bookings between 8 to 25 people Monday through to Saturday. If you have a smaller number of people let us know and we will see what we can do. Unfortunately, we do not take bookings for Sunday between 8.30am and 5pm.
We regularly host Birthdays, Hen Parties, Baby Showers and afternoon teas for office parties or gatherings. We offer a number of options, the most common request for the events list above is based on private hire of the venue for two hours. We charge an additional £7.75 PP for each additional hour. There are three set menus to pick from. The venue and food will be ready for your arrival at your chosen time so that you and your guest can maximise your time together.
We have hosted more hen parties than most people have had hot dinners and we have covered most requests from Vintage Hair & Makeup, Willy Wonka & speakeasy themed events to naked butlers. You name it we have hosted it. We pride ourselves on being able to provide you with a welcoming event space which can be tailored to your needs. This removes the inconvenience of having to host your event at home but lends itself to a warm and cosy environment.
We can organise the whole event for you if you wish. If you provide us with the contact details of your guests, we will take it from there. Alternatively, we can liaise with the maid of honour and make sure everything is in order. We can help add that personal touch. As mentioned above we have contacts for Vintage Hair & Makeup plus a range of events; Modern Calligraphy, Fascinator workshops etc. or if you have something specific in mind that you’d like to host before or after your afternoon tea, let us know.
We also offer a variety of alcoholic cupcakes including the following but can accommodate most requests; Gin Fizz, Mojito, Cosmopolitan, Long Island Iced Tea, Mocha Kahlua & Margarita.
We really enjoy making our venue as special as possible for your event so any background info will be much appreciated. We can customise cupcakes and make large occasion cakes. We love going the extra mile to make your event special. We are also happy for you to supply specific decorations before your event and we dress the venue before your arrival. We do not have a license, however, we are happy for you to bring your own fizz and then we make a small “glass hire” charge of £4 per person as way of corkage. We are also happy for you to arrange to have your beverages delivered to the shop prior to your event.
If your guests can’t make it to Cake Hole for an event, we can also host a party either in your home or at a venue of your chosing. If this is something of interest, please let us know and we can talk through the details and what we can provide. We do not have set pricings for this, as events can vary greatly but would follow the same basic structure of our in-house menus.
The three Set Menus are as follows;
As the café is closed during private events, we can only serve filter coffee and this does not come in the above menus. Please notify us of your specific needs. Additional Sandwich varieties include but are not limited to; Beef & Horseradish, Coronation Chicken, Roasted Peppers & Humus & Egg & Cress. For Menus 2 & 3 we make a selection of “mini” cakes each serving around 4/5 people. This way guest can sample a variety of cakes. However if one large celebration cake is what you would like we can accommodate that too.
Dietary Requirements
We can accommodate most if not all dietary requirement but we have yet to be able to crack a really good Vegan scone, so if you’re a vegan Menu 2 is the best option for you. This does not apply to coeliacs though we can make gluten free scones. Please get in touch with us directly so we can make sure that you have the best info possible.

Well…. Although we arrived just as it was opening we was warmly greeted and shown to the cafe which is set at the back of the shop, after deliberating over what cake to have we decided to go for different ones so we could try each others. I love having either lemon or orange cakes but they never live up to my expectations, but at last I found a cake that hits the spot , if you love orange cake have this one it won’t disappoint you. We loved the service and wouldn’t hesitate in coming back 👍

Nice cream tea, but the real star was the Orange Earl Grey Cake! One of the best cakes I’ve ever had. And the service was so friendly and wonderful – he even told us how to make the cake! Go here! You won’t regret it!!

We booked the Cake Hole venue for an afternoon tea for our team of 13. We had an amazing time and all the food and treats were absolutely delicious. Louise and Mark were perfect hosts and were really good at communicating with us ahead of the day. They were also very accommodating with the menu as we had some food allergies and dietary requirements in our group. The afternoon was filled with bottomless tea and lemonade, fresh and tasty sandwiches, beautiful scones with plenty of clotted cream and jam, and the most amazing variety of cakes, which included: Chocolate & Raspberry (Vegan), Lemon Drizzle, and Orange, Almond & Earl Grey (Gluten-free). Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon.

Went here for a hen do (sat 26th Jan 19), we had the whole place to our self, and a lovely afternoon tea spread was put out for us. The staff were incredibly lovely and attentive and constantly topping our wine glasses up! A satisfying selection of savouries and sweets, I would highly recommend this cute little cafe. It’s a real hidden gem, a really great place they’ve got going. And the scones were gigantic!
